INTERNET.
THIS IS AN ALL CAPS SITUATION!
WE DID IT!
Skepticon is fully funded for this year!
Thanks to this amazing community (who raised roundabout 7,000 in three days for this event-holy crapsticks), our speakers, bloggers, and supporters for spreading the word, and the hard work of the Skeptiteam negotiating like badasses with the venue/hotel people, we have done it.
This year is going to be totally LEGENDARY.
And it’s all thanks to you!
We want to thank this community from the very bottom of our jesus-less hearts for supporting us. You all are so amazing–words cannot express how grateful we are right now for each and every one of you. We are going to do our darndest to make this year’s Skepticon the best ever–even it if kills us.
I can’t wait to see all of you at the event this weekend. SO MANY OF YOU ARE GETTING HUGS. Prepare yourselves!
So many hugs!

Hi Lauren. This is a re-post of what I left in the forums section (under ‘after hours’, I believe). Just thought someone should know.
“So, I suppose this is the only place to post this. I linked to this page from Facebook and was looking around having never heard of this particular conference)…it took me going through three or four different pages before I was able to determine that the conference is in Springfield Missouri. Finally found that out on the registration page where there is a link to (presumably) the hosting hotel. Being the helpful guy I am, I figured I would send a note someone and let them know that there should be more attention to detail on the website next time around. I went to The “contact” page, and guess what? No contact information. Huh…that’s interesting. So, I’m throwing a post up here instead, hoping someone will notice. Next time around, folks, try assuming not everyone knows what and where this is, and show all the pertinent information prominently on the website. You may also want to include a way of getting a hold of someone. Just a thought. Hope this finds its way the proper individuals.”
Congrats, by the way, on getting fully funded. I really wish I could go, but I’m afraid that’s not in the cards. Maybe next time.
