Homelessness: One Paycheck Away
How close are you to being homeless? Do you know where to turn to for help? Homelessness is an overwhelmingly complex subject for policy makers, community organizations, and service providers, but it is far more complicated to be the homeless individual. Opacity in how assessments are quantified can further weaken an individual’s ability to seek and obtain support. Through some brief activities, this workshop aims to improve your preparedness for homelessness, be it for yourself or for those you know who are also at risk of homelessness. This workshop is presented by Junpei Yamaguchi, who is currently homeless in the San Francisco Bay Area and has been granted special permission to attend Skepticon by the director of the homeless shelter they are currently residing at.
