Erin conducts native bee surveys for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. She currently owns three ringneck doves, too many glowspot roaches to count, and one very rambunctious pigeon. She’s kept a variety of pets in the past, including rats, corn snakes, preying mantises, hedgehogs, crayfish, planaria worms, and giant centipedes. Whether examining and identifying insects, observing and caring for unlikely pets, using studio macro photography to capture the beauty and detail of tiny animal subjects or drawing from her knowledge of ecology and evolution as a creature design artist, her lifelong love of biodiversity drives everything she does.
