Currently an Assistant Professor of Religion and Africana Studies at Lehigh University, Senior Research Fellow with The Institute for Humanist Studies (Washington, DC), Co-Chair and Co-Founder of the American Academy of Religion (AAR) group entitled ‘Critical Approaches to the Study of Hip Hop and Religion,’ and member of the Culture on the Edge international scholarly collective which examines processes and strategies of identification. Miller is principal investigator of a large scale survey project (Remaking Religion) in Portland, Oregon which explores changing grammar of religion in youth culture. She is the author of Religion and Hip Hop, as well as a forthcoming volume on claiming identity in the study of religion and co-author of two forthcoming volumes on religion in hip hop culture with Dr. Anthony B. Pinn.
