Hello Skeptispiders,

Please give a warm, fuzzy welcome to our first speaker for this year:

PZ Myers!

Talk title: The wonderful fuzziness of genes: how they do and don’t define you and your family

Description: Genes matter, but we often have an exaggerated idea of the power of small differences in genes, which has led to a pernicious doctrine of genetic determinism. I’ll explain how basic genetics education has lied to you, and introduce some concepts that will give you an understanding of the amazing complexity of genes and organisms.

As you all know, PZ has been with us since day one for Skepticon and we’re always delighted to have him around at the con. Please be warned that he is really into spiders now, though. So if leggy bois aren’t your thing then ye be warned!

Stay tuned for more speaker releases!

Love,

Skepticon
