  • Skepticon is held annually in November
    • The date for Skepticon 8 has not be announced yet.

  • We started Skepticon is Springfield because this is where we went to college. As individuals we felt secluded and closed off from the rest of the world. The first event wasn’t even called Skepticon, it was called “Come See These Skeptics We Convinced to Come to Springfield Friggin’ Missouri”. We didn’t expect that it would become as popular as it is. Since then, we continue to hold it here because we feel that it’s location is paramount to its success.

There is plenty of parking at the Ramada Inn Oasis, so come on by!

Our new location is located near a lot of restaurants that you might like to try, so check it out!

  • Here is Missouri Liquor Law Wiki! Please drink responsibly. We like you and we want to keep you around!
    • Some important highlights:
      • Legalized public intoxication, which localities cannot override.
        • However, It IS a misdemeanor to consume alcohol and engage in unruly behavior.
      • No blue law (AKA we still sell the boozes on Sundays)
  • Also, there is a smoking ban in all restaurants and bars in Springfield, smokers will have to partake outside.

Please notify an event volunteer. There will also be an off duty officer on the premises to help enforce our harassment policy.

Yes! On the day of the event, just visit http://skepticon.org and the front page will live stream the event.

Please take as many as you like! However, do realize that some attendees are not ‘out’ as an atheist in their communities so be aware of this. It is best to ask if you can share their photo on Facebook and other social media sites if you are not sure. We also provide red lanyards for attendees who do not wish to have their photo taken and shared. Please try to respect the red lanyard.
